How the plan is built

  1. Enter goal race + target time, or import from an included race list (Copenhagen Half, Berlin, Amsterdam, etc.)
  2. Provide a benchmark (recent race OR your current fitness effort — they're different, we ask explicitly)
  3. Engine classifies your archetype from weekly km + longest recent run + years running
  4. Volume ramps at 10% per week with mandatory down-weeks every 4 weeks
  5. Validator runs — green banner confirms every workout has resolved paces, no placeholder strings, step-time match
  6. Load to dashboard → push to Garmin → train

Is Get-Split's AI coach actually free?

Yes — the Coach V2 engine is free forever. Premium adds unlimited plan history, multi-device sync beyond Garmin, and advanced analytics.

How is this different from Runna or Garmin Coach?

Runna uses fixed templates. Garmin Coach is heart-rate based and doesn't know your race goals. Get-Split runs rule-based periodization (Daniels + Pfitzinger + Hanson hybrid) calibrated to YOUR VDOT with stretch-goal pace override.

Does it work for marathon training?

Yes — 16 phase templates cover 5K through full marathon at four experience levels. Intermediate marathon plan is 18 weeks with 7-week base, 6-week build, 4-week peak, 1-week taper.

Can I sync to my Garmin watch?

Yes — every workout pushes to Garmin Connect as a structured workout with warmup, main intervals, cooldown, and pace targets. Use as a scheduled training day on your watch.

What if my VDOT improves during the plan?

Plan includes a mid-cycle 10K time trial at the halfway point. Run it all-out; if your result shows VDOT went up, the engine offers a one-click recalibrate that rewrites all remaining workouts at the new paces.
